We have been developing packaging solutions for the cold chain for 25 years — that’s 25 years at your side, guaranteeing the integrity of your temperature-sensitive products. Perhaps the greatest testimony to the know-how we have accumulated since our inception is the fact that Tempack has managed to evolve and stay ahead of the market. Beginning in Barcelona in 1996, we positioned ourselves in a niche that had barely been exploited: that of maintaining the traceability of  thermolabile pharmaceutical products in the cold chain through passive packaging systems. Years later, we applied all the knowledge we had acquired to offer solutions in the biotech and e-commerce markets, diversifying our activity.

In 2009, we started our internationalisation process in Germany with an emphasis on activity in the pharmaceutical industry. Our intention was to be closer to our customers and facilitate our dealings with them. Four years later, the company decided to accelerate its growth plan, making our way to Latin America and opening the first subsidiary in Panama. The warehouse in Puerto Franco de Colón became the main distribution hub for pharmaceutical products in Central America.

Expansion into Mexico, Colombia and Argentina confirmed the success of our internationalisation.

In 2017 the Softbox Group acquired Tempack and integrated the business into their operation as they looked to expand their presence and services in Europe and Latin America. Softbox Systems is an award-winning innovator in the temperature-controlled packaging industry. With a track record spanning more than 20 years serving the cold chain, Softbox is the world’s leading partner in helping with the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.

From the very beginning, both local and global reference companies have endorsed our services, and have driven Tempack to lead the market sector in Spain, with a share of more than 40%.

This has been possible thanks to our nuanced development and customisation of temperature-controlled systems that suit the needs of each customer. Our broad portfolio of isothermal packaging systems has been rigorously designed and tested to guarantee the integrity of the cold chain. Performance is optimised by taking into account the physical characteristics of the product being transported (such as volume and weight), as well as the particularities of the logistics circuit selected by our customers (type of transport, duration, exposure temperatures, climatic regions etc.).

Our innovation, constant quality and passion have made us a reliable partner. Today, we work continuously to offer our customers the best version of our service by following a rigorous protocol, investing in advanced technologies and striving to improve year after year.

At Tempack we are forever alert to the needs and trends of the different sectors we serve worldwide. Our R&D&I department is focused on the development of reusable packaging systems and the use of recyclable materials. With a commitment to corporate social responsibility and the environmental goals we share with our customers, hundreds of customised tests and validations of both reusable and single-use systems are carried out annually. These incorporate temperature ranges from -25°C to +60°C and load volumes from 1 to 2,500 litres.

A growing commitment to the environment has not only translated into more sustainable packaging, but has been implemented throughout the production process in order to reduce our environmental footprint. An example of these practices includes the installation of solar panels in August 2020 to generate our own energy.

We thank each and every one of our customers — both those who have recently decided to place their trust in us and those who have been part of our family for years — for choosing Tempack as their cold chain management solution partner. We look forward to growing together for many more years, sharing aspirations, goals and values, and committing ourselves to furthering the quality of shipments for temperature sensitive products.
